A Murakami State of Mind

I have a lot of favorite books, and a lot of authors whose work I love, but if you ask me who my favorite author is, I will say without hesitation that it is Haruki Murakami.

I read my first Murakami book, 1Q84, in July of 2014. It took me the whole month of July and most of August to read it. I did not quite comprehend what a huge undertaking it would be when I decided to read it (it actually consists of three books, adding up to over a thousand pages). I had only vaguely heard of Murakami at that point, but boy am I grateful for the random circumstances that led to the discovery of his stories. Continue reading “A Murakami State of Mind”

Happy New Year! I love the feeling of a fresh start that comes with the beginning of a new year. No matter what happened in the last year and what we accomplished (or didn’t), it’s a great time to reflect on how we can be better and set our intentions and goals for the next year.
